Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?

There is no referral necessary from a medical professional or specialist to see a physiotherapist.

Whilst our team work closely with a number of General Practitioner’s, Specialist’s and Surgeons – your physiotherapist at ME Physio will liaise closely with your medical practitioner if required to ensure a successful and quick recovery.

What do I need to bring to my physiotherapy appointment?

You do not need to bring anything specific to your physiotherapy appointment.

If you do have a referral, investigations or images that you think may assist our physiotherapist, please bring these along.

Can I claim my physiotherapist appointment on Private Health insurance?

We accept all private health insurance providers at ME Physio. If you have private health insurance with extras, we are able to claim on-the-spot using HICAPs when you bring your card to your appointment.

Please note, using HICAPs is only available on the date of service. However, where required, our team will provide you a receipt with all details that will assist in claiming through your private health insurer after the date of service.

Can a physiotherapist refer for scans?

Yes. Our team at ME Physio work with a range of local imaging providers and radiologists and can refer for X-rays and MRI scans at a similar out of pocket cost to a referral from your GP.

Following a thorough assessment, your physiotherapist is able to work out if this is required.
